The project

Today a lot of pupils have a lack of social and communicative skills. While countries and states try to build communities their individuals lose interest in different nature and escape into egocentrism and individualism. This absence of interest leads to an absence of empathy. For a lot of pupils it is hard to change their perspectives to understand other ways of behaviour, thoughts and values.

As a result conflicts occur because of the individual differences. The pupils cannot understand them, consider them strange behaviour and are unable to accept them. On a communicative level the conflicts cannot be solved. So we witness physical and verbal violence and bullying every day.

Today it is important to teach social and communicative skills and to offer pupils a change of perspective to develop empathy. This is what we want to do with our project SO MUCH TO DISCOVER!

But in order to realize the “mission” we need your help:

  1. We need real people from all over the world to communicate with. And that is you!
  2. We need real life to talk about. That’s your story!

Introduce yourself in a short video (5 to 10 minutes) to the SO MUCH TO DISCOVER- community. Get in contact with pupils from all over the world. Don’t get answers from your teachers or your books. Get answers from people who really experienced whatever you are talking about in class.


And that’s how it works:

  1. Choose a topic, video or song.
  2. Watch the video or listen to the song.
  3. Download material for the video or the song.
  4. Discuss the video or the song in your class.
  5. Visit the forum and ask your questions directly to those who made the video or the song.

And that’s what the pupils do:

  1. Get information directly from other / foreign people and cultures.
  2. Discuss and compare the information with your own way of life.
  3. Find differences and reasons for the differences.
  4. Try to understand why you feel the way you do.
  5. Try to imagine how these people feel.
  6. Try to understand why they feel the way they do.
  7. Change perspective.
  8. Develop empathy.
  9. Get interested in different nature.
  10. Start communicating.

The more videos we get, the more we can communicate!

The best thing is: IT IS NOT MUCH WORK FOR THE TEACHERS!
